Buku Project 2012
Okay, so being from the South I know how amazing NOLA is. New Orleans, Louisiana, a cultural center of hip-hop, bounce, and jazz is bringing you the latest and greatest in hip-hop and electronic dance music at this crazy weekend event called the BUKU Project. It all goes down March 17-18 where some of the world’s best DJs will grace NOLA with their presence and epic music. The line up: Avicii, Wiz Khalifa, Skrillex, Yelawolf, Diplo, Porter Robinson, Mord Fustang, Gramatik, SBTRKT, Figure, Rockie Fresh, and SOOO many more. It surely is an event that will not disappoint and definitely worth seeing. I know I’m thinking about making the trek, so if you are at all interested I really recommend looking into it!!

Crizzly Presents CRUNKSTEP
Okay so for those of you who aren’t too familiar with Crunkstep, its totally fine cuz I’m not either, but thats not to say that I don’t like it. Granted this is really my first time hearing it, but if this is what its all about then I’m all about crunkstep. Ya know what I mean?? Okay so I know I am always waiting for Figure to come out with new stuff, and well here ya go! His remix of Gobstopper is QUALITY!! There is always going to be a special place in my heart for dubstep, but I will admit its hard to find dubstep that would be appropriate to play at a party do to the fact that its not always “dance” friendly, so this is one of those rare finds. Plus lets face it, if you can make a XV and Wiz Khalifa song sound better than it already does then you deserve mad props. So Figure, I give you that respect. Sick face melting bass, quality mix, and EPIC drop. Once again, Figure exceeds my expectations and passes the test. Tons of energy… lets get ROWDY

RE:GENERATION Music Video: DJ Premier “Regeneration”
DJ Premier doesn’t disappoint in his RE:Generation mix. Faced with the daunting task of bridging classical music with his unique and unparalleled ability for producing massive hip-hop instrumentals and albums. Not an easy task at all. Calling upon Nas and the Berklee Symphony Orchestra for assistance he helps to create a way truly appreciate the influence and greatness of classical music for those who don’t have the greatest interest in it. Its amazing what DJ Premier can do.

soFLY – Girls Gone Wild
Well if you have seen the video Dubstep France then you were probably as impressed with the music as you were with the dancers. soFly is the very elusive artist who produced the tracks you heard in the video, and I can’t seem to find him anywhere on the mcinternet- other than his possible last.fm channel. Expertly mashing together hip/hop and dubstep, the sound Raphaël Judrin (soFly?) creates is crystallic catchy and has me begging for an official release, or at least a soundcloud page I can follow. Yet my plea may be answered, as there are rumors of an official release coming in April! Until then, I’ll keep looking for some good quality leaks of his stuff.
